Who We Are
Peer Advocacy for Sexual Health (PASH) is Duke University’s peer-run Sexual Health Resource Center. We are a group of students passionate about improving sexual health at Duke. Our goal is to do this by empowering our peers with knowledge they need to engage in healthy sexual interactions and encouraging non-judgmental discourse on a variety of sexual health topics such as STI prevention, birth control, sexual pleasure and sexual relationships.
Purpose and Mission
The purpose of Peer Advocacy for Sexual Health is to provide Duke students with resources on sexual health and relationships. Our mission is to connect students with staff resources on campus and to foster a sex positive, non-judgmental environment in which students can openly discuss all aspects of their sexuality, sexual relations, relationships, and sexual health with their fellow peers.
Goals and Objectives
- To encourage peer to peer discourse on sexual health among the Duke student community.
- To connect students with trained faculty and staff on campus specialized in different aspects of sexual health.
- To foster an honest conversation on sexual pleasure as an integral part of sexual health, by having examples of sexual pleasure products.
- To provide students with safer sex supplies like condoms, lubricant, and dental dams.
How It Works
As peer educators, we are completely anonymous and confidential and will not be taking any of your personal information, so feel free to ask us any and every question you have ever had about sexual health, sexual relations, and sexual pleasure. We promise to be completely non-judgmental. We also run a biweekly column in The Chronicle that's guided by students' anonymous questions. If you have any, feel free to submit them here.
How To Get Involved
If you want to get involved with PASH on campus, we offer a House Course called Condoms and Counseling that meets once a week for an hour and a half.
This course will give you all a lengthy brush-up on all things sexual wellness, and the skills you need to become a peer sexual health counselor!
In Spring 2020, the class will meet Tuesdays 6-7:30PM.
You can also join as a member of our Continuing Education or Marketing committees!
If you are interested, contact us.
